Sports nets are a bigger share of Sreshta's work in Vizianagaram than in any of the other four cities, and the reason is simply the housing: this is a town of large terraces and open plots, and both make good practice bays. We build across the town, the Cantonment side and out to Bobbili and Gajapathinagaram.
What Vizianagaram changes about the job
The same crew and the same specification, adjusted for what this city actually does to the material.
The typical Vizianagaram job is a terrace bay on a two-storey house — enough span for a proper run-up, a parapet to work with, and a family that has been playing up there for years without netting and has finally lost a ball through a neighbour's window. Being inland, wind load is a smaller factor than it is on the coast, so more of the budget goes into mesh gauge and pole spacing and less into oversized footings. We also do a steady amount of school and college ground work here.
Vizianagaram sits far enough inland that the salt load is milder than Visakhapatnam or Srikakulam, but the humidity through the monsoon is not — and it is close enough to the coast that cyclone remnants still arrive with real wind behind them. The practical effect is that material grade matters slightly less here than fixing quality does.
Building stock here
A lot of the town is older independent housing around the Fort and Cantonment areas, with newer three- and four-storey apartment blocks concentrated around Dasannapeta and the Vizag road. Older houses often have generous terraces, which is why terrace and sports net work is a bigger share of what we do here than in the other four cities.
Why our sports nets hold up
We size the frame to how the space will actually be used, not to the drawing. A terrace bay a family uses at weekends and a turf venue running twelve hours a day need different pole spacing and different footings, and pretending otherwise is why cheaply framed enclosures start leaning inside a season.

Questions we get in Vizianagaram
Is my terrace parapet strong enough for a practice net?
Usually, on the older Vizianagaram houses — they were built solidly. But it is exactly the thing we check on site rather than assume, because a base plate bolted to a parapet that turns out to be a half-brick screen wall is a genuine hazard, not just a bad installation.
Which parts of Vizianagaram do you cover?
Vizianagaram town is on our Visakhapatnam crew's regular route, so scheduling is usually quick. Bobbili, Gajapathinagaram and Nellimarla are covered too, typically grouped with other jobs on that side.
Can a practice net go on a terrace, or does it need open ground?
A terrace works. We use base plates rather than excavated footings where the slab cannot be broken into, and we check the parapet and the slab edge before quoting.
What is the difference between a practice net and a box cricket setup?
A practice bay is open or three-sided. Box cricket is fully enclosed including overhead, which loads the frame far harder — so it is a heavier structure, not just more netting.
How is the mesh different from a safety net?
Much heavier gauge and a different weave. Safety netting is specified against a fall; sports netting is specified against a hard ball hitting the same panel thousands of times.
Does it need taking down before a cyclone warning?
For a severe warning on an exposed site, yes — netting is a large sail area. We will tell you at handover whether your installation is one that should be dropped, and how to do it.
